Self storage tips and news

This is a busy time of year at Valleyview Mini Storage in Kamloops, and for our customers. As the year comes to a close, it's a great time to pause and reflect on the past year (and years) and make plans for 2016. This year marks 15 years since our team began providing storage services, including moving boxes and supplies, and FedEx Express (air) services at our convenient location at Valleyview Shopping Centre. Our plan from the outset was to provide unmatched customer service and exceptional value for your dollar. We built our facility with our customer in mind, with the latest climate controls and security features, all of which are still far beyond those available at other self-storage facilities in the area. It doesn't seem that long ago that we first opened the doors and quickly became the storage facility of choice in Kamloops. Many things have changed in Kamloops during...

Many Kamloops apartment residents face space dilemmas and a lack of self-storage. It's the reality of living in a small space. There are entire magazines and websites devoted to maximizing small spaces — providing tips for making your apartment more livable and more functional. One big problem for small spaces is the spill-over effect. A room, often a spare bedroom or small office becomes a catch-all for eyesores you don't want in your main living space — particularly if your apartment storage is minimal or non-existent. Before you know it, these spaces become cluttered dumping grounds for seldom-used exercise equipment, boxes, old computer equipment, musical instruments, books, magazines, Christmas decorations and more. It's difficult to prevent spill over in a small apartment and the longer you live in your space, typically the worse it gets.  If you do have apartment storage, you may be tempted to jam it to the rafters, but, before you do, consider these facts about apartment self storage.

Summer has finally ended and it's time to store the bicycles and helmets, kayaks, canoes, life jackets, food and beverage coolers, camping stoves, boogie boards, tennis rackets, badminton nets, camping and fishing gear. You get the picture. You don't notice how much stuff you have while you're using it, but, at the end of the season, when it's time to find space for those things, you'll ask the same question we all ask each year: "Where are we going to put all this stuff?"

Fall is upon us and summer is fading into memory as we ready ourselves for fall and winter months, and, there's nothing like a good 'ol fashion Halloween barn haunt to lift the spirits and be scared by some spirits and other creatures that dwell in the darkness. As Valleyview Mini Storage has done in past years, we are proud to sponsor the 4th Annual Barn Haunt Vale Family Yard Haunt — an annual food drive in support of the Kamloops Food Bank.
